 A friendly staff to meet you every vision health need. They are an integral part of our total team - focused on serving you. Carisa Jones CPOCertified Paraoptometric/ Office Manager
Carisa is a Certified Paraoptometric and is a member of the American Optometric Association. With more than six years of experience as an optician, lab technician, and paraoptometric she can assist in many aspects of the office. Although she works more behind the scenes as the office manager, she still enjoys helping patients during preliminary testing and in choosing glasses. Carisa is currently studying to become a certified optician, as well as the next level of certification for paraoptometrics. Kathy became part of the vision center team a year ago after being an optician and lab technician for ten years. Although she specializes in the optical side of the office, she has learned the optometric side very quickly and enjoys it as well. Kathy is currently preparing to take the American Board of Opticianry exam in order to obtain certification as an optician and to continue to educate patients on the newest technology for their eye care needs. Angie PalaciosOptometric Assistant/ Optician
Angie has been a part of our team on and off for three years and has been in the optical field for more than five years. She enjoys assisting the doctor as well as helping patients choose glasses. Angie has been a patient of Dr. McGowan's since she was a teen and is now proud to say she is a part of his office. Like Kathy, Angie is also preparing for the American Board of Opticianry examination to become a certified optician to expand her personal knowledge, as well as to better educate patients.
Jassin AbregoOptometric Assistant/ Optician
Jassin has been working for our office on and off for four years, and has been in the optical field for more than six years as an optician and lab technician. He is a UT graduate and specializes in the optical side of the office, as well as corrective eye surgery consulting. Jassin hopes to go back to school for optometry, but in the meantime plans to learn as much as possible as he acquires more experience in the field.
Diana ShenOptometric Assistant/ Optician
Diana is a part time employee while she attends UT. She has worked in the optical field for more than three years as an optician and optometric assistant in Austin, and Dallas where she is from. She makes sure the office stays organized and enjoys assisting the doctor as well as frame styling patients. Though she's only here during the school season, she is a great attribute to the office and we are happy to have her even if it's not year round.
